Their identity
WeForest is an international non-profit organisation, rooted in science, dedicated to developing high-quality forest restoration and conservation projects. Since its inception in 2008, WeForest has placed the equivalent of over 22,000 hectares under restoration or regeneration, and planted approximately 27 million trees. All this is possible thanks to the collaboration of over 400 partners ! WeForest now has the capacity to reach 85,000 hectares, which is equivalent to planting 100 million trees by 2024 !
Their objectives
To impact our world and our consciences, WeForest has 3 objectives:
- Develop or co-develop high quality, scalable projects that take into account the restoration of degraded areas, the protection of old-growth forests that are still growing and the development of livelihood activities that will ensure that local communities have a real benefit from defending and sustaining the forests.
- Root our work in science to monitor impact, best dissemination techniques, but also research in forestry, carbon and water cycles.
- To create a movement with the help of corporate sponsors and partners who fund and contribute in various ways to the global expansion of awareness of this cause.
